QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM


The need to guarantee that all products conform to applicable laws and standards, contractual specifications, and good practice has led the VALVITALIA Group to develop a Quality Management System for the Company, which has been certified as conforming to all the major international standards, including ISO 9001: 2008 and API Q1 – Eighth Edition, 2007, and European Directives  97/23/EC – PED and  94/9/CE – ATEX.

VALVITALIA believes that it is very important that clients' needs and expectations be systematically satisfied by careful application of the Quality Management System.


The basic, constant objective of the Company’s policy is to guarantee complete customer satisfaction, which can be achieved by continually improving Quality.  From a Client’s point of view improving Quality means improving the Product, Service, and Value for Money.

In order to pursue these objectives policies have been defined and adopted, as well as detailed strategies for implementation, development, and improvement and these are communicated at all levels of the organisation in a variety of ways that allows them to be understood and implemented by everyone. In fact, VALVITALIA has deemed the Company’s commitment to pursuing the quality goals in all Company departments to be strategic.

In this regard VALVITALIA considers its Quality Management System as one of the major stimuli for involving personnel and improving its processes, basing its operating choices on the following concepts:
  • Correctness, seen as meeting the Client’s expectations and commitments made.
  • Professionalism, seen as reliability in relation to:
    • The service provided.
    • The product made.
    • Operating methods.
  • Conformity, seen as compliance with contractual and/or legislative requirements for production and providing services.
VALVITALIA takes action by:
  • Systematic identification of the client’s expectations by the commercial departments and cogent requirements by the technical and quality departments.
  • Planning, checking, reviewing, and validation of planning.
  • Checking products according to defined and documented control plans and methods.
  • Evaluating the choosing suppliers, before using them, based on their capacity to satisfy certain specified requirements.
  • Checking materials acquired according to defined control plans and stated acceptability criteria.
  • Using production know-how and methodologies and/or technologies based on the Company’s experience, adequately documented from the operating personnel level, and validated.
  • Monitoring and recording the process parameters that affect the product’s characteristics and checking of the same, also during production of the product, using controlled methods and documented acceptability criteria.
  • Making equipment and systems available for production, experimentation, and control that are suitable for the needs and used by sufficient staff that is adequately trained.
  • Systematically maintaining machinery, plants, equipment, instrumentation, and infrastructures in order to ensure the ongoing capacity of processes.
  • Analysing and dealing with any non-conformity encountered and defining and planning corrective actions aimed at eliminating the causes that gave rise to the same, in order to prevent repetitions.
  • Storing, preserving, and handling of materials and products according to predefined methods.
  • Using measuring instrumentation and methods that are technologically adequate for the purpose and are constantly calibrated.
  • Managing quality documents and records in a controlled manner.
  • Providing technical assistance when required and/or necessary, according to defined methods.
  • Using statistical techniques for checking the characteristics of materials received and the indicator parameters for the Quality System.
  • Systematically identifying the needs for training and/or skills for personnel and planning the necessary training activities.
CARE OF HUMAN RESOURCES
VALVITALIA believes that, along with using planning logics for running company processes and ongoing improvement, identifying and making the resources necessary is fundamentally important in order to make execution of the activities possible.
VALVITALIA continually undertakes to provide its organisation with qualified personnel in order to pursue objectives, identifying the resources necessary and ensuring an adequate level of skill for setting up, maintaining, and improving the Quality Management System processes and to achieve customer satisfaction.

CARE OF INFRASTRUCTURES AND THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
VALVITALIA defines and makes the infrastructures available that are necessary for carrying out Company processes in order to ensure that the product and/or service supplied conforms.
It sees to systematically updating and maintenance of the plants, equipment, and infrastructures necessary for running the processes, in order to ensure the ongoing capacity of the same.

VALVITALIA undertakes to maintain the ambient conditions in the working environment that are necessary for ensuring conformity of the product made. The working and control methods define any parameter values to be maintained for working and during checks and the variability limits that are acceptable.
The Company also undertakes to maintain ambient conditions and respect for humans in the working environment that ensure health, safety, and human dignity, also in relation to provisions of existing laws, as a necessary condition for ensuring adequate attention by operators when carrying out the tasks assigned to them.
