This commitment takes concrete form in the constant quest for design and technological innovation, with a view to promoting a model of sustainable, responsible growth, as shown in the photovoltaic plants used to produce clean energy for internal use.
This attention to environmental sustainability matters was formalised in an Environmental Management System that has been ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certified, in conformity to modern international standards.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
When it comes to protecting the health and safety of its workers, the VALVITALIA Group has gone beyond complying with current Italian legislation and has drawn up a Safety Management System, which is currently being certified according to the BS OHSAS 18001 standard.
This system is based on some key elements, such as:
PREVENTION: VALVITALIA pays a lot of attention to systematic, in-depth analysis of health and safety risks for workers in each of its structures, in order to come up with a specific prevention plan for each plant.
The Group is also constantly involved in training its employees and sensitising its partners as regards issues on health and safety in the workplace.
RESPONSIBILITY: The Group encourages its employees to become more aware of their responsibilities according to the roles and duties they engage in. It also promotes direct involvement of personnel in preparing plans of action to improve safety.
VIGILANCE: VALVITALIA is vigilant to ensure that current standards are respected by running internal audits as well as checks run by independent bodies from outside the Group.
ONGOING IMPROVEMENT: The Group is constantly working to improve the performance of its safety management system.
COMMUNICATION: VALVITALIA undertakes rigorous analysis of malfunctions, injuries, and accidents along with workers’ representatives. The information gathered in this way is communicated transparently to employees and the bodies set up to protect them.
